NEW MILL HOUSE
- HONITON

Our accommodation houses up to 6 residents. Each resident has a key to the front door, their own bedroom and are free to come and go as they please. For reasons of security and health and safety, staff monitor when residents are leaving or returning to the house.
New Mill House offers a communal lounge, kitchen and free laundry facilities.
Residents are able to prepare their own meals most of the time, however, we share a meal in the early evening, which residents prepare on a rota basis.
Everyone shares in the cleaning of the house.
Unfortunately, personal pets such as cats and dogs are not allowed.
Staff work between the hours of 9.00am and 11.00pm.
Overnight, staff 'sleep-in' to cover for emergencies and acute need.
Our role is primarily supportive and formal therapy is normally provided through the local Community Mental Health Centre.
We plan outings and activities with the residents and join in as fully as we can in the 'life' of the house.
The house is situated within five minutes walk of the town and has good access to local public transport.
The New Mill House staff team work closely with the Community Mental Health team in East Devon to offer planned fixed-term, short stay and continuing residential care, often enabling our clients to move on to other community living schemes.
The New Mill House team support other self-contained accommodation schemes in Honiton, Ottery St. Mary and Exmouth.
Clients at our other schemes benefit from the support provided from New Mill House, which includes a 24hr phone link, therefore providing reassuring support for those beginning to live independently.
We are always happy to consider offering other services, such as, individually tailored outreach support for those not in Parkview accommodation.
