Castle Road is the base for our South Devon services and is itself a 13 bed residential home.

The home is within 5 minutes walk of Torquay town centre and has good access to local public transport, sports centres, libraries, college, night classes, clubs, snooker halls, football grounds, swimming pools, cinemas, shops and theatres. We actively support and encourage individuals to access as many of these facilities as they wish.

Assistance with funding may be available to residents who wish to enrol in educational classes at the local college.

All residents have a key to their own room and are encouraged to personalise their rooms if they wish.

Torquay - Castle Road

Residents are free to come and go as they please, with reassurance that appropriate support staff are on hand at all times.

The house has games room with pool and table tennis facilities, along with some gym equipment. Residents are also able to enjoy a large garden and encouragement is given to those who wish to participate in its upkeep. Home grown produce is often enjoyed at meal time.

The home is staffed 24 hours a day by experienced staff who undergo continuous training. A key worker system is in place at Castle Road. A fundamental staff role is to support clients with care plan goals and individual needs.

Individually tailored outreach support for those not in Parkview accommodation is provided by the same staff team for those requiring additional help in living in their own homes.

The Appropriate Adult scheme, which provides support to vulnerable detainees at Torquay Custody Suite, is also managed from Castle Road.

Confidentiality is paramount and valued by service users and staff.Service users are supported in communicating and engaging with organisations and people within the community to promote opportunities to function, participate and develop in society.

Promoting opportunities for service users to use their own strengths and expertise to enable them to meet responsibilities, secure rights and achieve change is a positive feature of life at Castle Road.Service users work in partnership with staff and other services to assess and review circumstances and plan responses to need and risk. Through working together with the wider community, we offer a valuable and comfortable environment for people with and recovering from mental health illness.
