About Us
Our History, Our Values, Our Commitment
Our Background
Started in 1982, there has been considerable growth in the services provided by the Society. There are now schemes in South, Mid and East Devon comprising residential care, group homes and individual flats. Enabling and support services are now delivered via our outreach work for people in their own homes.
We manage over 50 units of accommodation in registered care homes and supported housing. Our visiting services in Torbay and Teignbridge support over 350 clients. Some 70+ people are employed, and the turnover is over £2 million per year.
At present the members of the Management Committee are headed by the Chairman, Dr. Adrian Kendal, with Geraldine Breakwell as Vice-Chair.
Quality Standards & Fundamental Values
These fundamental values are essential for all staff to recognise and support, forming a measure against which the quality of care provided will be compared.
Quality
Our aim is to provide a high level of quality. All staff should maintain the highest standards and be proud of the work they carry out, aiming for excellence in the service we provide.
Service
This means putting people first and working to meet their needs by finding out their views and providing the services they require.
Equality
We aim to promote equality of opportunity for everyone by promoting practices and policies which are non-discriminatory.
Worth of Individuals
We value our workforce and recognise that a high quality service is only achieved by a caring, motivated and appropriately trained workforce.
Monitoring
Monitoring the Service is essential to ensure high quality standards for clients and continuous improvement.
The Future
The Parkview Society Ltd. will continue to build on its strengths of independence, expertise, and reputation to respond to the needs of people in need of support.
Our Services & Their Underpinning Values
Our aim is to provide a high quality service. All staff strive to maintain the highest standards and are proud of the work they carry out. The Parkview Society values its entire workforce and recognises that a high quality service will only be achieved by a caring, supportive, motivated and appropriately trained workforce.
The Society manages two residential care homes in South Devon. One located in Torquay and the other in Newton Abbot. We also provide an enabling service for those in the community that request extra support.
Our residential homes are staffed 24 hours a day by experienced staff who undergo continuous training. We view our homes as a positive bridge from hospital or crisis into independent living.
Promoting opportunities for service users to use their own strengths and expertise to enable them to meet responsibilities, secure rights and achieve change, is a positive feature of life at all our homes. Service users work in partnership with staff to assess circumstances and plan responses to need and risk.
