Castle Road - Torquay

Castle Road is the base for our South Devon services and offers a 12 bed residential home.

Residents are free to come and go as they please, with reassurance that appropriate support staff are on hand at all times.

Respite is available to give carers a break and encouragement is given to residents to personalise their own rooms. Visits from family and friends are welcomed and residents are encouraged to have household members/friends to stay by prior arrangement.

The home is staffed 24 hours a day by experienced staff who undergo continuous training. A keyworker system is in place so that each resident has a named staff to support them on a one to one and group basis.

Castle Road Project Aims

To provide a safe, warm and homely environment, with alcohol/non-prescribed drug free conditions. We also aim to offer support based on an enabling, empowering and person-centred care ethos.

Our work is to enable residents, through improvement of mood, development of social skills, etc., to move on to more independent accommodation. Choices, at Castle Road are encouraged through user involvement and person-centred care within a safe environment.

Promoting opportunities for service users to use their own strengths and expertise to enable them to meet responsibilities, secure rights and achieve change, is a positive feature of life at our homes. Service users work in partnership with staff and other services to assess and review circumstances and plan responses to need and risk. The stable community we offer, available and comfortable accommodation, plus all the services we provide contribute to the work we do.
